Puerto Rico!

Mark had a business trip planned to Ponce, Puerto Rico this month. He took me with him! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary, how lucky am I? Our awesome friend Denise stayed at our house with the kids, so thanks to her it was possible, I love my friends!!!

We stayed at the Hilton in Ponce, and while he worked for most of the day, I managed to make myself useful by the pool...

He'd come and check on me periodically to make sure I hadn't burned to a crisp in the hot sun.

We went beach walking all over the island after he'd get done working, it was fun!

On Monday we headed up to San Juan, and went to the Yunque rain forest, it was amazing!

Here is the sunset from the airplane on the way home, over New York, it was pretty.

We are home now, and we had a great time! We have to go back someday :)

Castillo San Filepe del Morro, Puerto Rico

On our last day there, we went to the fort Castillo San Filepe del Morro, in Old San Juan. It was an amazing place to visit. The fort is old, it was started in the 1600's, and added onto throughout the decades. I have not been anywhere where the structure was that old, it was awesome, the photos speak for themselves.

Nikki and Lilyanne are visiting!

Nikki has come to visit us for a week, we are so lucky! Lilyanne is 4 months old now and she is adorable, I am so glad they came. Thanks for letting them come Dan :)
Nikki and I went to Seaside and Cannon Beach today, it was 85 degrees and beautiful, so we had a great time.

Bonneville Dam

Since we have Uncle Mike in town, and he hasn't ever been to Portland?!? We had to take him on a drive this fine Sunday morning before church. We headed out on I84 to Bonneville Dam, which is on the Columbia River. The salmon are running up the fish ladders and we had to check them out. The guy working there said over 10,000 went through yesterday!

If you live in Portland, go check them out this month! It was pretty awesome to see them all.

After that we went to the hatchery and saw this huge Sturgeon fish, they can get up to 20' long! Holy guacamole!

After that we bought some smoked salmon because we were hungry...

In other news school started on the 8th, so far, so good! Here we are on the first day of school. I can't believe Curren and Jessie are in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Mark had a fun day for his birthday...

We woke up and headed downtown for some VooDoo Donuts!

We wandered around Saturday Market, and played in the fountains.

We picked up Mark's brother Mike from the airport.

And they went arrowhead hunting.

Mark, we love you, you are an awesome Dad and a wonderful husband, we are so lucky :)

Labor Day

On Labor Day we went to the beach with the Jarvis family, our fave family to hang out with! We always have so much fun when we do things together.

Curren and Jack had a sand war pretty much the whole time we were there...

Grandma's visit

I got a call from Grandma Stevens saying she made it home safe today. She had a fun time visiting the Pacific Northwest, it was a lot cooler than Las Vegas apparently. Grandma stayed with us for a week, and we took her up to Silverdale, Washington over Labor Day weekend. It was a nice drive, and Trish is always so fun to visit.

On Saturday we went to Kent and saw Becky! She is Trish's sister. We went to lunch at Claim Jumper, and stuffed ourselves, wow that is a good place to eat. Then headed to the barn to see Moose, Becky's big tall Thoroughbred horse. Jessie and I were in heaven.
