Bonneville Dam

Since we have Uncle Mike in town, and he hasn't ever been to Portland?!? We had to take him on a drive this fine Sunday morning before church. We headed out on I84 to Bonneville Dam, which is on the Columbia River. The salmon are running up the fish ladders and we had to check them out. The guy working there said over 10,000 went through yesterday!
If you live in Portland, go check them out this month! It was pretty awesome to see them all.
After that we went to the hatchery and saw this huge Sturgeon fish, they can get up to 20' long! Holy guacamole!
After that we bought some smoked salmon because we were hungry...

In other news school started on the 8th, so far, so good! Here we are on the first day of school. I can't believe Curren and Jessie are in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Happy Birthday MARK!

Mark had a fun day for his birthday...
We woke up and headed downtown for some VooDoo Donuts!
We wandered around Saturday Market, and played in the fountains.

We picked up Mark's brother Mike from the airport.

And they went arrowhead hunting.
Mark, we love you, you are an awesome Dad and a wonderful husband, we are so lucky :)

Labor Day

On Labor Day we went to the beach with the Jarvis family, our fave family to hang out with! We always have so much fun when we do things together.

Curren and Jack had a sand war pretty much the whole time we were there...
They had enough time in between lobbing sand to pose for me, MUSCLE BEACH!
Lily and Jessie became sand crabs.
Jessie is wiped out, boogie boarding is hard work.
Indian Beach is PRETTY.
Jessie and Lily the surfer girls.
Jessie attempting to teach Taylor to surf, he just wanted pulled around :)
Mark and Kasey checking the waves, they were pretty big that day.

Grandma's visit

I got a call from Grandma Stevens saying she made it home safe today. She had a fun time visiting the Pacific Northwest, it was a lot cooler than Las Vegas apparently. Grandma stayed with us for a week, and we took her up to Silverdale, Washington over Labor Day weekend. It was a nice drive, and Trish is always so fun to visit.
On Saturday we went to Kent and saw Becky! She is Trish's sister. We went to lunch at Claim Jumper, and stuffed ourselves, wow that is a good place to eat. Then headed to the barn to see Moose, Becky's big tall Thoroughbred horse. Jessie and I were in heaven.

Here is Becky, Jessie and Moose

Here is Trish and Grandma, love you ladies!
We love you Grandma, thank you for visiting us!
